Default Clutch

Hey Guys,
I got very ill in the fall of 2006 and ended up in a nursing home (retired cop here) for a bit over 3 years. I had a "friend" offer to store my 87 'vette for me.
They told me that it would be parked in a garage/barn and would be safe.
Fast forward to a month ago; as it turns out, the "garage/barn" was a space in the woods across the street from their house. It just sat there, under the pine trees, no cover, nothing. Hell, they covered their freaking WOOD PILE with a blue plastic tarp for god's sake!

Anyway, not knowing what damage may have happened, I had it trailered to my house. Here are the issues: The clutch pedal (my 'Vette has the Doug Nash 4+3 tranny) is basically resting on the floor. Now, I had a couple friends look at it and they thought it was due to a leak in the fluid line (I filled the clutch fluid and, 2 weeks later, there are no visable leaks). I then spoke to the service manager at VIP auto center (I'm in Maine, btw) and he, along with the guy on the register, said together that something had rusted. They asked if I had put a rock under the pedal before storing it and I told them this story about my friends. Supposedly, by NOT doing this, there are 2 parts of the clutrch that will rust and fuse together. Could this be it? Do I need a whole new clutch?
My second question is: The "Y-Pipe", has a rust hole the size of a lemon, which I knew would have to be replaced. The "Y-Pipe" is about $150. For another $600, I can get either a "Flowmaster" Cat Back system or a "Borla" Cat Back system. I have heard pro's and con's for both, but the biggest con was for the "Flowmaster" system. I knew that FM are pretty loud, but they would be really LOUD on a vette. So, I'm really leaning towards the Borla. Any thoughts guys? Oh, and I just watched a clip of Jay Leno's 2006 Z06 and he had a Corsa system installed and it sounds SWEET!!!

Don't know about the clutch problem but on part 2, do not buy Flowmasters. Look here www.mamotorworks.com Flowmasters I've have heard are pretty raunchy.

I put on OEM style Magnaflows with dual outlets for about $100 each IIRC.

Not familiar with the 4+3 but I would look at the clutch master and slave cylinder. You could try bleeding them and it may pump up but sounds like you need to look at the whole system.
Take this guy off your Christmas card list and I would qualify him for a burning bag of poop on the doorstep at least 2 nights a week.

Kindofa botched title, don't you think? It says "Poll: Clutch" but the poll has nothing to do with clutches.
