belt tensioner rattling annoyingly
my belt tensioner is rattling making a sound like the engine is knocking.........has it gone bad ....do i need a new one or can it be fixed?

No way to rebuild. A new one for about $80 and about ten minutes work. On mine it made it feel like a new car. Sounds silly but it helped with the power steering problem that I was having.

It depends if the tensioner is making the noise or the pully. The bearing in the pully can be replaced for about 5 bucks.
