hey i have a 96 corvette lt1 engine, i need to change the oil and oil filter. i see that its 4inches off the ground and i dont think the regular ramps will work. so what are the best ramps or best way of getting the car off the ground so i can change the oil? i dont want a ramp that will break, but i believe the car weighs around 3400 pounds. so what kind of ramps should i use?.. i saw some ramps for around 200 and higher, is that how much ill have to pay around?

I have a 94 coupe, and I also had the same problem with regular ramps. I bought a set of Race Ramps, and they solved the problem. They also work well on the C5 & C6. They are a two piece ramp, and once the wheel is on the top of the ramp, you can remove the incline part, for better access. I would prefer they did raise the car a little higher, because you can't use a creeper with these ramp..just not enough clearance. As it is..your nose is just about against the oil filter
Here is a link to a site that sells them. You might shop around at different places...as I don't know if they have the best price...hope this helps.
I use a regular set of ramps I got from Autozone, Rino Ramps I think. I cut a 2x12 about a foot long each and place flat on the ground just in front of each ramp. The air dam clears and nothing rubs. BUT my car is stock ride hight if yours is lowered you may want to try somthing different, mabe moe boards? Good luck on your choice.

This works great its my set up.
I used 2 x 10 and cut and angle on each side, one to match the ramps and the other maybe 30 for driving up on.Total cost about 40 bucks

We make ramps specifically designed for Corvettes, and other low ground clearance vehicles. Low angle of approach keeps the air dam from hitting ramps. As well we use a grippy coating, so they won't slide.
Other neat features include a two-piece version that provides easier access to the underside of the car.
