Default opti bearing question

I've got a code 36 on my '93 coupe. Looks like another opti change in my future. I read in an earlier post that the bearing could also cause this code. Where is the opti bearing? Is it in the opti? That being the case a new opti would mean a new bearing. Or is it in the engine? This next time I want to get it right. 2 optis in the last 1000 miles or so crazy, I must be doing something wrong. I'm thinking MSD the next round. Any advice, opinions, or suggestions appreciated.

The bearing is on the opti. The gear the goes into the cam shaft. New opti new bearing. MSD bearing is bigger than oem.A you buying Gm optis or off brand. Two optis in 1000 mi. They should be gaurenteed. Tim

The first one was a new GM replacement. The 2nd one was done by a shop. I'm not sure what he did. Likely just the rotor or whatever is cheapest. There were many other issues with that machanic. The car was picked up with massive oil leaks from the front. I tore into the front ready to replace the main front bearing only to discover the opti seal had been removed, and put back together with so seal! Amazing! So I'll never go back.
The time and hassel involved is more of an issue the the cost of the part, not that I've got a lot. It's so agrivating to have a car as cool as a vette, but can't drive it. Uhgggg!!!!
