700R4 Input Drum. Pete K. ?
Question for Pete K. the auto transmission specialist here on Corvette Forum.
Need a used 700R4 Input Drum for my car. GM #8663097. In excellent used condition. No wear to the aluminum drive lugs for 3-4 steels. Preferably from a 1987 or 1988 Corvette.
Do You Pete have one ?
Does anyone else out there have this Input drum?
Thanks, Brian R.

Hi Pete, These GM # 8663097 700R4 Input Drums are discontinued by GM. And they are very difficult to find in MINT or good condition I have found over the last month searching.
I have obtained 4 used #8663097 Input drums with production dates of 1987, 1990, 1991, &1992. All sellers over the phone said they were in good condition. When I examined each upon receiving each UPS & USPS, the Aluminum Drive lugs for the 3-4 clutch steels were heavily worn. Beyond Filing clean.
Frustrating to say the least.
Are the 700 R4 Input drums from PATC transmissions, TransStar, or Chris @ CK Performance out of New York any better shape than the input drums I have found?

I have read many or previous posts Pete and have talked to You in the past on Corvette Forum.
I know you strive for perfection in parts and workmanship like myself.
What is WIT you are talking about ? A curse word or phrase? LOL
