I am growing weary of the idle rich condition on my 165 ECM, I want to delve into tuning but not with the stock ECM,
My buddy knew the MAF tuning pretty well but now has the Holley Commander 950 and has struggled with tuning the Speed Density, so I am leary now of the Holley 950
I'm curious too, I've resisted swapping to a '165 because I'm afraid I'd do it and then find myself swapping again when I put together a new engine combo.
Larry, take a look at this, particularly page 2 and post 50 on page 3. There may be a light in your tunnel somewhere. Lot of links over to TGO too, although I didn't chase them down.
I would go the Gen 7 route, which I believe is a Gen 8 now.
I would make you a heck of a deal on a Gen 6. I have one that came out to upgrade to a GEN 7. I also have one of my old cars here with a GEN 6 that I am trying to remember the commands so that I can open calmap. I would make the GEN 6 cheap if you would like to go that route, you can download Calmap for free. You would have to order the comm cable from Accel, which also included a free calmap disk plus the instructions.
