A bad metal sounding squeak that I was having going over speed bumps was a result for the front roll bar rubing against the bushing brackets. I removed the roll bar today and believe that the old bushings were mounted incorrectly. Can someone please confirm for me the orientation of the U shaped bushing that the roll bar goes through? The ones on the car had the thick part facing the front of the car and the thin part facing the engine, should it be the other way around?
Also, what is the best process for pushing out the old bushings from the metal shroud and the A arm. Thanks

sorry i cant answer your question directly, but consider replacing your rollbar (swaybar) bushings with the urethane replacements. IVe heard some people say they really make a difference without a negative impact on road vibration.
Now, for the other bushigns - you may want to ask around and see if urethane is the best for a street car. Urethane might be too stiff and jarring ride.
As for pushing the old bushings out? Id just look up northerntool and see if they have a cheap press. Some of that stuff is so cheap in there.

When I did my bushings I bought a $100 press off of "the bay" and it worked out great. I can't see how you can do the job without one. Also, the sticky thread in tech is great. It basically walks you through the entire process.
