Default Shift points in 700r4
Trans is doing great but does anyone know at what rpms the trans gears should shift at? Taking it in this week for a fluid change after the rebuild and would like to get them adjusted correctly.

normal driving=20mph 2nd,35mph 3rd,40 to 50mph od.of course those numbers go all over the place with how much throttle you use and your version of normal.wot should shift near redline 1st to 2nd,and not as high 2nd to 3rd.however when i installed 3.73 gears i found that at wot occasionally it would shift late and hit the rev limiter.maybe pete k will chime in he is very sharp when it comes to transmissions.are you having a problem?

With auto it shifts at 4700-5000, if I want to wind it out more I need to shift manual

If you want it to shift at a higher rpm at wot, put heavier weights in the governor.

Actually to raise the shift points you will want to use lighter weights.

If its a stock L98 its shifting right.
