The Targa Truss is very cool - guess I'll have to Google that.

As promised here's some answers

1.That steering wheel is nice, where did you get it, what brand, how did you get around the air bag? I would love to change the steering wheel in my 93 to that exact wheel.
2.Those valve covers look great, do they fit because the 91 head is not center bolt cover?
3.What intake is that?
4.Are those TPis headers, how do you like them, how did they install, any problems?
5.What is the "big doggy procedure"?
Thanks again for the pix. Super nice car!!!
1. The steering wheel came from E-bay, Take a look at this thread for more info on the parts I used for installing it (post #22)
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-g...n-finally.html
2. As Gregg said AFR heads are drilled for both patterns of VC.
3. Again as Gregg said it's a TPIS MiniRam
4. Hooker Super Comp Ceramic coated 2151's, love em, easy to install, but you will have to take it to an exhaust shop or do some fab work to attach your exhaust to them.
5. Esham described briefly what the Big Doggie procedure is, but for more info if you read through the thread I linked above there is more info.

It brings the rear wheels in about 1/2 inch (13.8 mm). The procedure involves swapping the 88-96 spindles for the earlier 84-87 spindles. It also involves machining the brake caliper mounting plates down 13.8 mm.

Are your 11" rear wheels the ZR1 36 mm offset or the Grandsport 50 mm offset?
I'm running the 50mm GS offset. The Big Doggie procedure originally was done with the 36mm ZR1 offset and brought the wheels in a 1/2 inch so they only stuck out a half inch. So when used with the 50mm GS offset it brings them in the half inch making them even with the fenders. Since there is room in the fender wells for this I still to this day do not understand why GM didn't make the 11" wheel with a slightly larger offset like say 60-65mm and omit the GS flares.

Took your guys suggestions and tried rotating the clamps, but they're not going anywhere. Since all the exhaust work was done in my garage some of it took some creative fabrication, and those particular unions were questionable about sealing so I used a specail high temp sealer which has apparently welded those clamps to the exhaust.

Dane, I just noticed your roof brace. How do you like it? Do you think it's more "necessary" with the extra ponies?

Also, I vote for the clamp rotation (or welding) too! LOL
Love the targa truss. No I didn't get it because of the horsepower, I got it because all of the stories on here concerning the flex and cowl shake with the targa out. I had no way to verify this as these past three weeks are the first I've really driven the car, but again because all of the stories I had intended on getting one since I never intend on driving the car with the top on (and I got the truss used earlier this year for a hell of a deal).

As you can see from my reply above kinda stuck with the clamps where they are.

The truss actually bolts into place using the factory targa top mounting points, so you have to remove the truss to reinstall the targa top.

Congrats, Dane, I know this has been a long time coming! I guess no more parts to buy from your garage...lol.

BTW, what fuel pressure gauge did you go for inside the car. That's my next purchase.

Thanks again guys for the continued compliments.

Matthew, good to hear from you.
Actually there are still a couple tubs of parts I still need to go through
The guage is a Stewart Warner, it was the most reasonable priced one that included the electronic sending unit, I found if you go shopping for an electronic FP guage and the price was too good too be true it didn't include the sending unit.

Been working on the tune, this is proving to be challenging but luckily I have some of the best help I can get.
