Engine stalling problem when at operating temperature/ I'm stumped
I have a 1991 Vert L98 with a 6spd. I have an intermittent problem and there are no service engine codes stored. When the engine is at normal operation temperature (driving around) then I stop and shut off the engine for 15-30 minutes when I attempt to restart, it will start/stall-start/stall unless I hold the gas pedal down a bit so the RPMs are up for about 10 seconds. At that point it will stay running but the idle will fluctuate for about 45 seconds. After that it runs fine.
The second problem is when I am driving along then down shift and brake to slow down for a turn or traffic light it will stall when I push in the clutch. I can restart on the roll and keep driving. As I mentioned above it doesn’t do this every time I drive it.
I am not sure if these problems are related. I installed a new IAC and the problem persists.
Do a search of base idle procedure. Make sure the throttle plates are clean. If that's all good do a scan test and see if any of the sensor readings are off. Also look for vacuum leaks.
