Default 94 ecm swap, fbody into vette?

Hello,

I was working on tuning my VE tables tonight and froze up the vett. ecm.I am not sure what happened, everything was going great and the laptop locked up. I do have a stock F body unit that I installed, it runs the motor but tunercat will not comunicate with this now. It gives me an "invalid response" message. Is this doable of am I going to have to send the vette unit to TC for repair before I can drive this thing?

Thanks
Ron

You need to reprogram it with your Y code.

To do that, you either need to program it on the bench, or unplug the CCM. The latter is not really feasible unless you already have your dash apart...

Info for making a bench cable here:
http://www.akmcables.com/techinfo.htm

I think a few places sell premade bench cables.

Or if you know somebody with a 94-97 F body, you could put the PCM in their car and upload the Y bin.

Or you can just send the F PCM to a tuner and have them load your BIN.

Thanks for the reply Vis Croceus,

If anyone ever has this problem in the future pull both of the CCM fuses and then reflash with the Y code. so far so good.

That's good to know! I never thought to look for a CCM fuse...
