Where do I find replacement hoses?
I have a '94 LT 1 and am replacing the water pump and all hoses. GM no longer makes some of the hoses. Specifically heater hoses and the hoses that have a unique attachment to tubing (i.e. no hose clamp); therefore, the replacement part will be hose and tubing as a unit. Any suggestions?
And for the record......removing the knock sensor was a complete mess......I was very surprise how much fluid came out. In fact, more antifreeze came out of knock sensor hole than the radiator.....my bucket overflowed.
Thanks

Try Rockauto.com for hoses. Or NAPA or CarQuest. While a dealer may not beable to come up with OEM hoses, you should be able to find every hose from aftermarket sources.
The knock sensors being at the bottom of the block hold back a lot of coolant. You got everything that was in the block from the water pump down.

If you want to bypass the TB, you can use generic heater hose like Duck mentioned and buy a one piece upper radiator hose for a '95 or '96. That will let you eleminate the T in the heater hose and its counterpart in the upper radiator hose.

So for a 1 pc upper hose that rids yourself of the TB tee, what vehicle application would you use to purchase it? 1991 L98?

No, you would measure from the head fitting to the heater fitting at firewall, using the actual route for your car, and order by hose ID size. Just buy a good quality reinforced hose at the auto parts.

how about the 1996 LT4 - does it have the tb hose tee on the upper hose or is it one piece from the radiator to the motor?

Also, look at the passenger side of the heater hose routing. On the 94 there is a T that makes the connection to the passenger side of the TB coolant run. Removing that T and replacing that hose with generic makes for a clean TB bypass. If the L98's have a similar setup then you're golden.

O'Reilly Auto Parts has all water hoses manufactured by Gates. It took them 24 hours to get them at my store. Their web site for my 95 LT-1 basic listed all 7 hoses. If you need their part numbers PM me. Cost was about $135 plus tax.

I could not find the heater hose for my 92 except for thr U shaped hose. I got that on amazon it's a gates. The heater hose was like 1 inch on one end and 3/4 on the other.
I got 3 peices of straight hose 1inch and 3/4 and purchased a coupler reducer from Napa.
the other hose was 5/8. Get longer so you can route it before cutting this way it's not too short and you need to go back to the store

The 96 upper hose is indeed one piece. But I don't know if the part is compatible with the water pump for the L98. Take a look in C4 General at the CL never dissapoints thread and look at that 95 for sale craigslist ad. In that ad is a clear picture of the 95's upper hose and you should be able to tell from that.
