Default Where does this brace go???

OK, I'll admit it up front. I screwed up. I just finished assembling my engine from a warped head problem. Everything went fairly well (see my discussion under "Intake Plenum") except for one piece - it's a large brace. I have no idea where it goes. The two braces that attach to the exhaust manifold studs -- the "generator mounting brace" and the "A/C compressor brace" -- are installed.

My car is a '94 'vette with the LT1 engine and automatic transmission.

Here is the part:

That's a piece of rubber hose on it to prevent it from rubbing on something.

I followed the FSM for the removal and re-installation of the left head. I followed it religiously! I bagged all bolts and inserted a note as to where they came from. I marked all parts that weren't obvious.

After I put the engine back together, I had this brace left over. Apparently I didnt' mark everything well enough.

I went through the removal and re-installation sections with a fine-tooth comb (actually, a magnifying glass so I could examine the figures in fine detail!). Didn't see the brace. I searched the internet without success. I hope one of you experts can tell me where it goes.

Thanks in advance,

Stupid

A/C Compressor. One end connects to the lower, out board hole on the compressor and the other end attaches to the second exhaust manifold stud - there are TWO braces on that stud.

BTW, you should have an "extra" bolt too, that screws into the compressor to hold the brace.

I went back to my copy of the FSM -- that particular brace does NOT show up in the directions or in the any figure. My FSM says 12-93 on page III.

BTW, The bracket uses the same bolt that holds the compressor to the bracket, so I didn't have an extra bolt.

Thanks again,
