I have no interior lights at all except the one under the mirror (should that be on anytime my lights are on?) Doors, hatch, light ***, none will turn on any lights inside car. I have done the searchs here and know about the delay timer box behind the dash. My question is it seems when that is bad the lights still work with the **** (mine do not). As all the posts make it seem like an evil thing to get too I'm not very interested in doing it first if its not where I should be looking.

Fuse has been checked, I have only checked bulbs in the piller lights, and am assuming they come on with the door lights?

I'm going to admit electrical in cars is my major weak spot and other then checking fuses and such I suck at it.
I have no problem going in and pulling the Delay timer if its possible its the problem. its just os many posts say the **** will still work if its that part, its it possible no lights at all if its bad?

The little "mood" light under the mirror should be on anytime the headlamps are on. Try replacing the fuse, sometimes even ones that look good, aren't. EVen with a bad door switch, the headlamp **** should turn everything on.

Kooky...

Ok sounds like the answer i was looking for. I should get some type of light with the **** if the fuse is working even if the Delay box isnt.. Still could have other problems but I will start elsewhere and leave the delay switch till later.

My mirror light (map light)has a switch..(on all the time) Off (only when door is opened) and in the middle (alwys off)

I would change out that fuse anyway as posted above.
Thinking that your dimmer switch ( full up position by headlights) doesn't turn them on, I'd guess bad fuse, ground issue.
My first guess as a culprit wouod be your door switches. water gets in there and wha-la..short.

What year is your vette? If we know, we can look up and find where that ground wire is.

And finally...dumb question..you sure you got bulbs in them sockets?

I had a bad ground in the passenger side door. Fixed it, and they work fine. Oh, and while I was playing electrician, I blew the fuse...

Sorry its a 87. I have been doing alot of Interior work as the PO was HARD on the old girl. I ahve already did new carpet in front (back left to do, waiting on some parts trade on a guy in the parts area here). Right now I have zero interior lights. I have checked the bulbs in the 2 piller lights right behind your head. I have not checked other bulbs. I have cheked fuse and it looked good (but i will replace to be sure). I get no lights when the light **** is turned either. No lights when rear hatch is open, no lights with doors open.

the light on my mirror comes on when the lights ar one (its a very small one and it points down at my shifter? at least that i what it appears it does, lights up your console. Its a very dim light and almost un-noticble untill its very very dark. There is also a switched MAP light on mirror, that works fine. I didnt noitice if it was a 3 postion switch. I had thought it was just on or off.

I would guess maybe a ground as nothing seems to work, i would think if anything I would get one floorwell ligth or somthing, but -zero- lgihts.. and when its dark out.. its dang dark in that car. So if sombody knows a good spot to check ground issues, please point it out. I guess I will start with fuxe and then move to door switchs.

Maybe when you do the rear carpet, you'll come across the Diode Module. That could be illuminating!

Just a follow up and "I'm a dummy" post. It was the fuse, It looked good, but it wasnt. New fuse and all lights work and the Delay even works. So lesson of the day, even if a FUSE looks good, check it with a new one to be sure. 1 down 100 to go.
