i took my throttle body off to soak it in solvent, after i took the throttle body off i relized the intake is extremly dirty and grungy as well, i was planing on taking the top part of the intake off and soaking it along side the TB. while im doing all this stuff are there any valves, controls, filters or anything else i should be changeing (wether it be routine, necessity or preventive) while i have the top part of the intake and throttle body off?
also has anyone painted there intake and throttle body (the top and the sides not inside the intake or throttle body)? if so what paint did you use and did it turn out good?
Many guys paint their plenum (top part) and the runners (intake tubes) with Dupli-Color aluminum intake paint. Don't paint the throttle body - just clean it well with throttle body or carb cleaner, install new gaskets and a new IAC valve and reassemble it.
What about the TPS swithch, should i change that out as well, i aslo noticed that when i took off the top of the intake, there was a switch screded into the bottom looks like an o2 switch but im not sure cant find it in my notes or manuals, any ideas what switch it is? would it be a good idea to change the fuel pressure regulator while its easily accesable?
