Recently the passenger side headlight motor continues to turn after the headlight has opened or closed. I have noticed that the headlight occasionally the headlight takes longer to open or close. Zip products sells a repair kit that will replace the nylon bushings in the motor. Is this what usually goes bad on the motors?
Yes, the kit is like $4 or $5. It contains three plastic bushings. No need to get that expesnive brass gear, the gear is 99% usually not the problem.
Do both motors at the same time. Believe me, if one needs it so does the other.
Not a bad job. I did the first one using the directions they supplied. More work than needed. Basically you can do it by removing one E-clamp and the motor will come off the assembly. It is the E-clamp that holds the motor shaft on. They instructions say to take others off. Not necessary, really. Also watch out for the screws that hold the motor peices together. They are nortorious for snapping heads off
