My cc has been working erratically for a while. Got the manual out a little while ago to check it. Instead of going dirrectly to the cc module to test the switch, I pulled the cover from near the switch and tilt lever. There I found the plug (4 wires) for the cc switch. I put my ohm meter on it and this is what I got:
purple(blue) to green - cruise switch on - bounces from 150k to 90k, then w/the r/a on 1.4 ohm, then released it went to 50 ohm
purple to yellow seemed normal - r/a on - 1.5 to 3 ohm
green to red seemed normal - set switch on - 3 to 4 ohms
purple to red - 58 to 140 oms w/cruise switch on and set switch pressed
does it sound like a bad switch? If so is GM the only place to get one.
Most of the time a its a vacuum hose with a CC unit. There are a mile of these hoses. Make sure none are cracked or have a hole, or kinked. Check the brake/clutch switch...adjust (its under the drivers dash) Disconnect the connector at the servo, make sure you have no corrosion. Check the resistance. A-C 42 +-10 ohms E-C 42 +- 10 ohms B-D 22 +- 5 ohms The rest you need special Speed Tester.
