First why are you shocked at 480-500 on a 383? (ported heads)

That is common number for that size. Also, the fact you are carb is why you are there already, as compared to stock tpi intake IMO.

With that hp 1 3/4 is what I would put on, especially if you have gears or anything.

The heads are obviously choking it but we knew that going into it.

383 113 heads, .570 lift cam 110 lsa 230/230 @500

470 ft lbs @4900 and 478chp at 5700.

415 ftlbs @ 3000 rpms

460+hp from 5200 to 6500

The carb is running fat up top so we are going to re jet and run it again.

Why am I shocked? Because it was my first try and i did a half a**ed job porting the heads.

Very cool. What I think will be nice, will be once you put it in the car you will know the actual flywheel power so you will not be guessing like the rest of us at what you are really making. Drivetrain and accessory losses can add up quickly.

113s have been shown to flow in the 260cfm range. Sounds like you could start charging for you half-assed job.

Don't be you obviously did fine, and the numbers to me are what I expect out of a 383.

I guess my main point is you already have a decent intake on top to allow some flow, and 113's are not great compared to other stuff, but they are not terrible either.

Congrats on doing a successful build.
