1987 Quick question, where do exactly is exactly attached ?
i pulled it off like 10 months ago, i can't remember where my Tach filter was attached to ...block ? firewall ? head ? i can't remember !!!
I have the new one ready to go but i didn't want to bolt it to the back of the head since its aluminum might not be a good ground ..or maybe it will work but i would like to bolt it to its original location.
Thanks !!!

I am pretty sure it is held on by one of the top bell housing bolts. I purchased a used one but am waiting to install it when I do my manifold upgrade next week.
Sammy, Mine was on the upper center bolt of the bellhousing like mentioned above. The new one I have now is a different design and just hangs free and is bolted to nothing at all...WW
thanks guys !!!
i just installed it yesterday bolted to the back of the drivers side head
i really like Ray's location i guess i will move it there !
Thanks once again !

Mine is a hanger too. It doesn't really matter what it attaches to, or even that it is attached. The bracket only holds the filter in place. It is not a ground.

On my '88 the bracket IS an electrical ground.
After the recent engine rebuild the installer neglected to install said filter and my tach readings were way off till I clipped a jumper wire between the mounting tab and an engine ground point.
