I have two 89s and have replaced the digital dash lights in both. Use the search tool to find a wealth of information on this forum on how to do it.
One quick question: Are the left and right turn signals plus the high beam indicator illuminated when you turn on the power? If so, it's a bad ground to the digital cluster and the internal bulbs may be okay. Search specifically for whatever symptoms your digital display has for the best results.
Beachcomber is right. There are a couple of places where the ground connection commonly deteriorates in the "Atari" dashes. The first is under the dash, I forget exactly where, but it might be at the inside temp sensor ground location. The second place is in the digital dash itself. there are two circuit boards inside the unit, connected by a multi-pin connector. One of the pins is the ground, easily noted by the slightly charred appearance. If you clean that connection, the dash will often work. I would tell you the exact one, but it has been a couple of years since I fixed mine. If you are good with a solder gun, it is worth adding a drop of solder to the connection.
