Re: Single Mass Conversion Info for ZF6 (BrianCunningham)
I've just got my Hurst shifter in.
I've also got the beam plates from zfdoc
I'm putting in a dual-disk ( not dual friction ) unit.
So the zfdoc is also sending me a shift fork ball that's been milled .050 for clearence.
The dual disk isn't that bad $$$ wise, when you consider it includes a new flywheel.

What does that do? No clutch rattle?
Nope, different setup.
The dual disk is just that, two separate clutch disks with a floater plate between them. The custom flywheel is hollowed out to contian it, but you really need more clearence. w/o the clearence shift fork ball you need to grind the shifter fork a little, may still need to.

Re: Single Mass Conversion Info for ZF6 (bogus)
I used the OEM (Valeo) Corvette clutch and pressure plate assembly with my DRM f-body flywheel. Bolted right up.
The clutch disc isn't sprung.
Also, you will need Camaro flywheel bolts to secure the flywheel to the crank with the DRM flywheel. There is also an ARP part number for these bolts - I will try to find it...

great. suspected as much with the bolts. those won't be much of a problem...

Thanks!!!

I was thinking, you might already have this covered but on L98's a pilot bushing is used from the factory. I upgraded to a pilot bearing when I did my clutch & flywheel, you might want to do the same if LT1's come with pilot bushings as well...
Re: Single Mass Conversion Info for ZF6 (BlueDemon)
Centerforce in general sucks, especially the single friction. I have known several people to blow a dual friction to pieces on a stock motor. I would definately stay as far away as possible from the centerforce. Definately don't use their pressure plates, they made a lot of them with plastic fingers.
Agreed I went thru one in about 6 months. I only race about once a month. :mad
the beam plates stiffen up the clamping and the c beam mounting to really help out handling. I help BB market them and have LOTS of satisfied users. perfect to install when doing the clutch tango.
email me for details. I can get you a deal on them.
they work great. ask bogus in a week or two, his shipped tonight.
most of the ZR1 guys have done this mod but they work on ALL C4s both stick and auto. great quality/price. cya.
