Default does anybody know the diameter....

of the stock 89 Corvette electric radiator fan blade? I want to change it to that "S" shaped blade in hopes I can pull more air through the radiator.

Tanks!

If you look closely at the fan blades, the tip/ends of the blades are molded to an outer piece. The blades are like the spokes of a car rim.

The blades are around 16 inches not including the outer rim.

I don't think there are any published cfm ratings for the stock fan.

It's easy to replace the factory setup with a 16" Spal fan.
They sell a universal mounting kit.

What I am looking for is a replacement blade for the fan motor I have. That's why I need the actual diameter of the blade itself, so it can be mounted on my stock shroud. I would imagine even with the Spal set up I would need it in the same size as I am currently using.
Would this be a true assumption?

With a Spal fan you don't need the stock shroud. You gain a lot of space when it's removed.

You're wasting your time and money in replacing the stock blade. The improvement in cfm will be minimal.

You can have your computer chip reprogrammed so the primary fan comes on earlier. To have that done costs around $75.

The main problem with the C4 cooling design is the air intake is from the bottom of the vehicle.

Yes.

The "S" shaped blades are Quieter but, the Straight shaped blades actually pull more air in. Also, Use only Spal fans since they have a lot more torque than others.

Here are some pictures of the fan blade.

The blade from tip to tip measures 15.5 inches. This does not include the outer ring that the blades are molded into.

First picture shows the front side of the fan blade.

2nd picture shows the outside diameter of the blade includiing the outer side ring which is 16 7/16 inches.

3rd picture shows the out side diameter of the back side of the blade including the outer ring which is 15 11/16 inches.

4th picture shows back side of the fan blade.

5th picture shows a side view of the outer part of the fan blade.

6th picture shows the motor part of the fan assembly.
