Default Brake booster

The booster seems to work correctly but when the engine shuts off, I lose power assist almost immediately. Shouldn't the booster hold some residual vacuum?

Maybe check your vacuum supply hose for leaks first?
Maybe booster is leaking?

Good Luck.

The check valve would seem to eliminate the supply hose, as it is designed to hold the vacuum in the booster, it could be the check valve, however, it has been checked and is good. There must be a small leak on the booster somewhere, but not enough to make the engine notice.

Is yours metal or plastic?

The plastic ones over time will devolop leaks from its close proxcimity to the exhaust manifold

Mine is plastic, oem. I've not heard good things about part store replacements, the oem is 350 and I can't find the rebuild kit that used to exist for them.
