Pics from my LT1 Build
For those that don't remember when I started this....
Rod bearing pictures

Main bearings were not much better.
Block stripped down and almost ready to head to the shop
Box-O-New pistons
Another Close up

Heads back from the shop. LT1 Heads, 2.02 intake valves, 1.60 exhaust valves installed. Minor cleanup / porting and gasket matching.
Instead of turning the crank I opted to use a new Scat prostock crank. Here is a picture of the crank in its new home.
Rotating assymbly all installed and torqued to spec.
I am posting a picture of this just in case anybody else here is doing a LT1 rebuild. The center plug is made out of god damn unobtainium. No plug kit sold includes the proper plug size , after MANY trips to Napa I finally found the correct plug size. 29/64. Really? Wtf chevy ?
Oil pump, windage tray and oil pickup tube all installed. I would like to point out that this pump ended up not working , Ran into oil pan clearence issues so it AND the pickup were swapped out with the correct parts. (Go go pre kitted engine rebuild kits).

Gold plated Lunati LT1 timing set. They are proud of these bastards compaired to Gen 1 timing sets.
Heads bolted up and torqued down.
Lifters, lifter alignment brackets and tension plate all installed, along with the optispark and harmonic balancer.
Next up is the nice new shiny comp cams 1.6 full roller rocker arms, these are narrow body self aligning. Trick stuff , pricey though. They are simply sitting on the studs right now, I need to measure for pushrod lenght and I will be able to finish up the top end.
Next picture I am just showing off my newly powder coated valve covers.
Anyway its moving right along, it should be pretty stout as its a 12:1 compression 355, comp cams CC503 camshaft, ported heads / intake, 32 Lb injectors, 58 mm throttle body .. ect ect. It should easily motivate my 92 deep into the 12s. If it fails to do that (which I doubt will be a problem) I do have another option left to make sure I make my goals.

This all started out with a local forum member here in the Phoenix area wanting to sell his LT1 out of his 92 Vette. The motor had pretty decent list of goodies already on it but had a very bad bottom end knock.
I bought the engine soley for the top end. The head work was all done, larger valves / after market springs / harland sharp RRs / Polished intake is extrude honed /gasket matched. It came with a 52mm TB and 24lb SVO injectors and a CC503 cam. I paid 1k for it complete intake to pan.
After doing a lot of reading I decided instead of doing a HCI swap on my high mileage motor in the car, the smart thing to do was completely rebuild the spare LT1 and install it as a complete unit.
Once I tore into the motor I found that it had some bearing issues (understatement of the year) and the crank would have to be turned almost 20 thou. For the sake of my wife not killing me I opted to simply buy the SCAT prostock crank and use the original rods (resized).
I know I left a chunk of HP / Torque on the table by doing that but its what worked best for my budget at the time.
Would anybody venture a guess at the HP this thing may lay down at the crank (Off the juice)? I would be happy with 365+, anything after that is a good bonus.

One of my old engines with mildly ported LT4 heads was 363 with the HOT Cam. A friend of mine has a '94 6 spd that puts down 374 with worked over heads and a cam with >.600 lift.
