The check engine light on my 1995 LT1 6 speed is on and the car keeps stalling. My AC stopped working at the same time (Is it normal for the ac to shut off when the check engine light comes on?). I barely made it to the parts store to get it scanned. He hooked up the OBDII scan tool and it would not link to my car??? Another strange symptom is that with the key in the on position and the car not running the smog pumps turns on and off rapidly several times. I was lucky enough to make it home because it was getting worse. Now the car wont start at all. I just replaced the opti cap/rotor, coil, wires and plugs a couple weeks ago and it was running fine. I tried to pull the codes with a paper clip and there were none listed, yet the check engine light is on. Does this sound like a PCM or what? Any one ever had similar symptoms? Where can I buy a used or new PCM and what will I have to do to get it to work with my car? Flash it etc... Any pointers will be appriciated. Where can I get it flashed, what does "flashing" exactly do?

I'm not sure what year they switched but it may be an OBDII connecter with still OBDI PCM. The paper clip should work, did it go through diagnostic routine? I'd be looking in the engine bay for unplugged wires. possibly the MAF is dislodged.

Need OBDI scanner
I would be doing a lot more diagnostics before investing in a new PCM
By jumpering the correct pins on ALDL connector you can get fault codes displayed in the dash cluster

I did try pulling the codes with the paper clip, but nothin registered. No codes were present under module 4., Yet my check engine light still persists.
