I have some really bad swirl marks on my passenger side from the hood passed the rear of the door. It looks like it might have been from rubbing compound as the paint is perfect everywhere except there. I tried 3m swirl mark remover by hand and it really didnt help. Would using a high speed buffer be the next step. Its driving me insane. luckily in the daytime u cant see it since its white but at night its pretty visible. Any help would be appreciated.
The autobody & paint section can help the most. Having said that, I use a Porter Cable 7424XP polisher, Lakewood foam pads, and XMT polishing products.
You'll definitely need a polisher and a fine polishing compound to remove the swirls.
Be careful not to burn the paint or cut through an edge.
To be honest go to a body shop and pay the guy 25 bucks to remove them. If you dont have the experience which obviouslyyou dont or you would not be asking this question. Any body man would be more than happy to make 25 bucks for 10 minutes work and your pain will be over. Most detailers who use high speed equip can do it also. Most car washes forget it they use an orbital and are amatures compared to those who use high speed
PS where do you live. In on Long Island and i could do that Job in 10 minutes if your close by

thats probably what im going to do tomorrow. head out to some shops and get it done. i would take you up on your offer but im in Florida. quite a ways away.
Good luck with the swirl marks, my vett was covered with them when I bought it, it was a learning experience finally finding out how to get rid of them. I bought the PC orbital and foam pads from auto geek, plus watched a bunch of videos by the "junk man" just do a search for him on utube, you will be amazed at how much you will learn from him. By the way your car really looks nice, its one of the best looking white vetts I have seen!!

well guys I just got back from a friends body shop. He gave me a 3 step system from Evercoat, 3 different pads for each step and an orbital. He showed me how to do it and I went at for about 20 minutes. I was impressed. Tonight ill now how good it really is but its definitely improved in the sunlight. Can any one recommend the best product in there opinion to wax my car?

Good deal! Tell me you know there's a whole forum/section for car care products in here....You'll find Zaino and a couple of other products constantly touted. Locally, I've heard 2-3 guys rave about Black Ice.
