Hi guys. I'm thinking of using a 15/8 or 15/10 wheel. What offset do I need to be looking for? I haven't seemed to find an answer yet. Also, anyone know of a low cost front wheel that will clear my big 13" front brakes? Also, what is the bolt pattern again?
MODEL YEAR O.E. WHEEL SIZE BOLT PATTERN STUD SIZE HUB/CENTER BORE OFFSET
CORVETTE 68-82 15x8 5x120.7 7/16-RH 70.3 L
CORVETTE 84-89 16x9.5 5x120.7 12x1.5 70.3 M
CORVETTE 90-UP 17x9.5F/17x11R 5x120.7 12x1.5 70.3 H
"H" means High Positive Offset Typically +35 to +55, "M" means Medium Positive Offset Typically +15 to +25 and "L" means None or Low Positive Offset Typically 0 to +15. These tell you how far the mounting surface for your wheels is to the outside of the vehicles fender, "Low" being the furthest inside the fenderwell and "High" being closest to the outside of the fender. Typically front wheel drive cars are "High" and rear wheel drive are "Low".
15x10 Greg Weld Motorsport wheels 6.5" backspacing - had to grind the hell out of the rear calipers to fit. Shown here on my '85.
Greg Weld Motorsport went under though... but the company is back and known as RaceStar. Supposedly the 10" wheels have new hoops and less or no grinding required.
I was thinking of picking up the generic weld prostars off ebay for $110 each. So I'm looking for a 15/10 with a 4 by 4.75 pattern with 6.5 backspace or will I be fine with 5.5 backspace?
What tires are on your 10" wheels? Those look great!
So there is a chance I'll have to grind down my calipers? What about running a 1/4" spacer?
Tires on my wheels are Mickey Thompson ET Street radials -275/60/15. Using spacers will not help with caliper interference, and will make the wheels stick out past the wheelwell opening.
anyone sucessfully mount a 325/50/15 drag radial on a set of 15/10 wheels? I'll probably be fine with a set of 275/60/15 mickey t drag radials, but I'm curious.

Best of luck to you
Hey Bob, did Weld wheels go out of business?? That's what I have on my car.
Althought these would not fit yours without a little modification here is what mine will be running
I am running a pair of Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro Tires 33X21.5X15's in the rear on a set of 15X15 Centerline Competition Series Rev Wheels
This set does require a few modifications... I am really looking forward to finishing this project. These should help me get a better bite off the line
just hi 9's,thats not very modest in mho. Billet specialtes has a set that work with the rears on f-bodys and I was looking for a front set of skinneys that will work but haven't found any as of yet. How much to get the gto spares?Did you ever get your ysi blower working the way you want? i have followed your build hoping for the best.Actually i met you and mo bandy at hooters with my friend kevin a few years back but since have moved to florida, no smog here and can run what you want.p.m. me if you find anything. daryl
Haha! I know, just high nine's. We'll see how it goes though. I'm seeing an additional 4 lbs of boost out of the ysi for 14-15 psi so hopefully I'll have close to enough power. With the added boost I should be right around 775-800 crank hp which should get me there with a decent 60. We'll see though. Nothing is ever easy with my car.
I'm 90% sure I'm just going
To go with a 295/45/17 on my 11" zr1's to keep costs down. My tranny swap is looking to go over budget and is eating into my drag wheel setup. My budget is shrinking considering I want to take the car to the mojave mile in march and need new road race/street tires all the way around...
I fixed my original post. I meant I was running 15X10 with no clearance ISSUES. I am running Weld wheels from about 8 years ago. My backspacing is 6 1/2". I did not have to grind anything and don't need spacers to get these to fit.
