engine running temp
My 91 usually kicks on the fan at 230* Is this how it should be? becuase this seems like its running pretty hot. Is there a way to lower the running tempature, or would it be better to leave it alone?

230 is correct. Yes you can lower it by way of a Hypertech Power Programer or a better way is swap out the fan switches for a lower temp-along with a 180 thermostat.
Your radiator more than likely could be cleaned as well.
Check Mid America/Ecklers/etc for parts.
