torque converter loc-up

I don't know about you guys but my 1993 LT1 likes to lock up at like 40mph and at this speed it is only turning like 1100 rpm and that sucks.... Is there any way to get it not to lock up at such a low speed with out buying one of the expensive chips that don't do much more then turn your fans on sooner?

short of buying a custom chip or gettin a new converter, i cant think of any.

The fastchip does more than just turn the fans on... The stage two off the shelf does affect shift point!!! you need to look into this/... $159 http://www.fastchip.com.

PS. I did the Vigilante TC for $649 MAN DO I LOVE IT. Stock C5 are not problem for me!!! but I have the 3.75 gears and other little goodies... C5 and SS camaro's.. .without me spraYING
