L98 and LT1 differences?

L98 and LT1 differences?

I have a 90 coupe with the L98 and was debating if it is worth upgrading to a mid-nineties vette to get the LT1. Are there major differences?

reverse cooling, opti, different block, cam.....everything

The biggest is 50HP and about 750 RPM. And a tad less torque.

It uses the same roller-style cam, but they're not the same specs. I dont think there's enough difference in the engines to warrent changing, but its up to you.

You can get very close #s with the L98 shortblock. IMHO it is not worth the effort to convert to reverse flow cooling, computer etc. Drop a mini ram some good heads and cam on the L98. Also I've thought about converting my LT1 to an L98 style so I can use a 400 block for a big inch motor. Well big for a smallblock 406, 415 or 427
