Default Should the O2 Sensors Be Changed?

I'm approaching 100K Mi. on the 95' LT1 and was wondering if I should change the O2 Sensors as a "Tune Up" measure? Car runs great.

Mine just tipped over 88k and I did them just because they're 15 years old and have 88k on them. It was just recently so hard to tell if fuel economy has improved but it does run a tad smoother.

If they are original it is time to change them for maintenance purposes. Some sources say change them at 50K.

If you've got the money to do so, by all means. Its always better to do preventative maintenance in my opinion, especially with the age and mileage together.

I have a 92 LT1, how many O2 sensors are on there and any idea on the part numbers? I looked on the site listed and just wondering how much it will cost to change them all.

Being one of the cheapest cost items you can buy for a vette that can have a major effect on engine operation and performance,it just makes good sense to replace them as a maintenance item. 30 to 35 dollars a piece is peanuts. 95 has 3 sensors but only the 2 fwd. sensors are actually needed with the OBD1.

Yup. Cheap peace of mind on the preventive tip. If you accidentally break one of the pigtail connectors (they become brittle from engine and exhaust heat) you can buy them at NAPA Auto Parts stores.

Your '92 has two (one on each pre-cat). They can run anywhere from $15 each at AutoZone for the Bosch to upwards of $60 each for O.E.M. AC/Delco or Denso, depending on where you buy 'em.

What is the correct part number for a '95?
I have AFS 75 or ES20317.

The getgmparts.com shows the AFS 75 as ES20222 or something like that.

Which is which??

I believe one of those numbers is a Delphi number. Not sure which though. The AFS75 is what I run in my '96 if that helps any.

Those are good prices, cheaper than auto parts. No-one is higher than the stealership.

Definitely change them. You should see a an increase in MPG with sensors with that much mileage on them. On a plus note, your car should run smoother.

you'd be shocked how many systems are affected on a car by the O2 sensors...fuel, timing, cooling... it's definitely wise money spent!

My car still has the original O2 sensors in it (just turned 90k). I'll swap them out soon.
