As per the factory manual for my '89 L98, I've checked the iac connector and found that two of the four pins do not light up the test light. I've back-probed the connector and the wires are dead there, too. Checked them up near injector wire #8 and they're dead there too. Any tips on my next steps since I'm a rookie at this stuff?

Under what cond?
The IAC is a stepper motor; power on one circuit turns it one way ; power on the other turns it back
Looking at the diagram the ECM controls IAC by grounding the circuits so you would only see power on the return ( ground ) side if IAC was plugged in and operational ?
It's official...I'm a dumby! I went back to the chart and realized I forgot to ground the ALDL...when I did just now all four lit up as they should with the test light. Onward to my next dumb move!!!
