Hey everyone i have a quick question about the a/c compressor on corvette coupes.
I know the model is 10PA20C, and i was wondering if there are any other makes that this compressor was used on that can be interchanged with the corvette style?
Are the dimensions of the compressor the same for all the vehicles this was used on? I would think the only differences would be the reciever for the lines and the belt style.
This compressor can be had for much cheaper for other makes so i thought it was worth a shot.
Anything - other than the variable displacement models (and even those could be made to work; with a lot of work) - could be adapted - but you will need brackets, custom hoses and maybe a program change since it's monitoring operating pressures for fan control and diagnostics. Sanden is popular with Rodders - you can find examples here: www.hotrodlane.cc - and has a good reputation. I'd stick with the Nippo it came with. Stout unit though they can give up a shaft seal which is servicable.
I agree. The shaft seal is easy to replace. When I replaced mine, I found one of the seal lips rolled over backwards when installed at the factory. It caused the shaft seal to leak.
