Default Where does this part belong??????

I found this part loose in the engine compartment of my 96 LT4. It was lying on top of the transmission in front of the firewall. Cant figure out but I'm sure it serves a purpose. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

That shield is for the front engine harness, right side top of intake runs under the cover. Its held on by the last intake bolt.

Spot on Metal Brain. Looks like my car had the intake out at some point and the f**k wad that worked on it tightened the nut so hard he couldnt get the piece back on so he left lying around. One pia bolt to take out and take apart but now I can sleep better at night knowing that mstery piece is back on.

Many thanks to all those that chymed in.
