Oil Sending Unit
Hello All,
Does anyone know where the oil sending unit is located on '84? Are they prone to leaking and easy to replace?
Thanks

But unless you know for sure its the sending unit do a little more checking.. It could also be the rear of the intake at the China wall or the distributor oil gasket..WW

Thanks for the info and the pics.
I was able to locate the oil pressure unit and it looks like the middle pic. It's the original unit on an '84 with 44K on the clock.
Where is the oil sender unit located?
I'm getting decent dripping with the engine running coming from the top back of the block. I will check the sources you mentioned.

Unless the 84 is different than the 85 the sender should be beside the pressure sensor.

When they leak, they leak big and bad since they are under pressure.

Without removing wiper motor, I was able to see oil on the oil pressure switch. Once I get in there and get a better vantage point, can I determine that the switch is not getting soaked by way of a leaky intake?
Thanks again

Removed wiper motor to get at it and sure enough, the sender was soaked and leaking.
Used a plumber's basin wrench to get it out
Thanks for the help!!!!
