Default mastercraft LT1??

I just purchased a 1994 mastercraft boat with corvette LT1 in it, the block is cracked (which I knew before) I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this engine it has a external reluctor wheel behind the harmonic balancer and a stand alone EFI, I was thinking if these engines made any power I would rebuild it and put it in my '64 any thoughts? what kind of RPM can this system take? it has a air valve on the front of the intake and is MPI, are these a decent running engine? or should I throw in the 425hp 383 waiting in the wings? thanks for any and all input. Keith

Don't see it being any different than any other LT1; most likely more reliable electrically now Optispark as been replaced with aftermarket setup.
Opti and water don't mix

Hmmm... ready to go 425 hp 383, or rebuild a cracked block 300 hp 5.7. Seems like a no brainer to me. If I had a ready to go 383, 425 hp motor, it would go in the boat. If I had the time and inclination I would get a new motor for the other ride and try to sell the LT1 to see how you can offset the price of the 2nd motor. JMHO. Otherwise you have to rebuild the LT1 by buying a new block and fitting all the old parts to it? Not me.
