Default Easier Clutch

Hi, I have a 96 coupe with the LT4 and a very bad back. I have been thinking of selling to get an auto as the clutch requires just enough effort to bother the lower back and spoil the fun of driving. I don't want to sell if there is any way of swapping the parts of the hydraulic linkage to make the effort easier. Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks,
Alan

Instead of selling the car, swap your manual to a 4l60e. I did that with my car for drag racing and it's been great.

Without converting to an automatic (as suggested above), I don't see how.

The clutch pressure is a function of how hard it is to actuate the pressure plate (via hydraulics). I'd think you'd need a longer lever inside the bell housing to increase leverage/decrease effort. There's no room for that.

Or a brake booster! Maybe you could mount a brake booster/master cylinder combo somewhere in the cabin. Nope...just kidding.

Sell or convert. Or,,,go to a chiropracter and drink more water. (The later helped my back)

It may be possible to find an aftermarket pressure plate, but in many cases the aftermarket parts increase pedal effort.

That would be a good question for Ft. Wayne Clutch. Seems like they said they'd custom build pressure plates.

Default old hat

street rod clan has been doing 'remote' power brakes since last century...they mount a small non-power master cylinder in the usual place and run a hydraulic line to a power boosted master in the trunk of the car...vette clutch should be slight variant of street rod layout (quick thought here is to relocate your battery to behind the pass seat and put the 'clutch power assist' where the battery began life.

Thank you all for the ideas. I didn't think there was any easy fix. I don't want to ruin the value of an LT4 with an automatic swap. I will be putting it up for sale or trade soon. Let someone enjoy the car the way I have for the last 10 years.
I'll be looking for an auto Corvette, most likely a C4 soon.
