That's because it is an aftermarket non-factory part. GM never offered or installed one. Try Hypertech, MAM, or Ecklers.

If you really want one (I don't know why you would), you can order one fron the Vette websites, Eklers, MAM, Corvette Central or Corvette America.

No, just a few who don't understand what a thermostat does. You will have to lower your fan on temps as well to make any diff.

unless there is a problem you should not need a 160 them.
if there is a problem then it should be repaired. a therm is simply covering the symptoms.

then again if you just like to tinker with things go for it.

It seems folks are looking to spend the extra dime to get a therm instead of pulling the rad and cleaning it out.

just my 2 cents. if it aint broke, dont fix it.

When I did mine I just went to Autozone and asked for a 160 SBC thermostat. I believe all small block use the same t-stat.

there are times when you need to run a 160.

one of those times are when your tuner tells you to.

That worked for your car, but the OP has an LT1 that takes a different stat.

I know it gets so old to read the same thread over and over. I am not trying to say that the OP thread is old but why can't you just answer his question. If you do no know where to get it don't respond.

To the OP, there is a search button in the red banner just above this thread. It works wonders. I started to use it and I usually find what I am looking for.

Default 160 degree stat

guys, if you run your a/c all the time like I do in Florida, then a 160 stat will be (and has been) a huge benefit. Think about it.

OK I thought about it.......I guess you will have to explain the HUGE BENEFIT. BTW the heat index here right now is 112* with air temp at 103*, and I have been running with a 195* stat just fine.
