Default new guy has many ??

hi guys, love the forum, probably too much info if anything but keep it up. My background is in sat. night short track oval racing, fixing everything of my own that breaks, and also helping out some freinds here and there along the way. not much experience with f.i. engines, i am also brand new to this voodoo you call tuning. now for the question, here's what i have, tell me what you think will/won't work, i have been trying to tune for about 1 month or so, read tons upon tons on several forums and websites, and also started over repeatedly,i am afraid the brain may be getting full. it is a 350cid,alum. heads, big cam, lots of cam overlap, edelbrock pro flo xt intake w/stock ls1 throttle body, also needed gm hei dist. with remote mount coil to clear intake, stock 86 maf descreened, 24lb bosch design 3 inj from fic.,now for voodoo, 165ecm,arap bin,$6efile,autoprom,aldl cable, moates ribbon cable and memcal chip adapter, started using tunerpro rt, right now i am using tunercat and datamaster(theese seem a little more gorilla friendly). any thoughts, tips, or help would be appreciated.

How big?
Cam specs?
Big overlap screws up idle ; most have to tune open loop to prevent " so rich ,my eyes water " condition at idle with big cams

dont know all of the cam numbers, engine builder is looking for card, i had the rich effect you refer to and was able to change injector constant (move way up i have had it everywhere from 35 to 60) this resulted in good idle but lots of popping thru intake especially a tip in.an observation to throw out there lowest tps volts i can get are .86,
the highest are somewhere just under 4.0. even if i remove tps and turn w screwdriver, maybe nothing but seems odd compared to other posts i have read.

Irrespective of cam related tuning problems , that high a TPS reading would make the computer "think " the throttle is open wider than what it is @idle and add more fuel
The LSX TPS may not be directly compatible with the '165 ECM which needs to see .54 V at idle.
Later cars ( '90+ MAP ) take the lowest TPS reading at key on and use that as base setting which is why later TPS are not adjustable
