Default Opti-Qpark Maintenance?

Hi,
I am in the process of replacing my WP on my 92 LT1.
I also thought this would be a good time to check the condition of the Opti.
I replaced it in 2005 and 75,000 miles later very nice and clean inside.
Cap and rotor contacts cleaned up satisfactorily.
No water, antifreeze or oil contamination/damage.
This is probably due to the installation of a vacuum harness upgrade/modification back in 05.
Any recommendations while apart? The rotor bearing still turns smooth. Can I get any lubrication in the bearing?
Money is very tight right now so need to keep this economical.
Thanks,
92WhiteVetteGuy

It sounds like your opti is in great shape. I would put it back together and stick it back on the engine.

I would agree with the above advice, given your tight budgetary situation. Worst that can happen is you'll have to replace it soon, but you've already been there, so you know how to do it and you're not afraid to pull it apart again if necessary.

Live well,

use locktite on the rotor hold down screws;

put a thin bead of silicon between the rotor cap and opti body;

modify weep hole in water pump body to accept drain hose ?

Not broke. Don't fix.

I think you'll be just fine without trying to do anything to help it.
