Default FX3 Selective Ride Control

I have a 1991 coupe with the FX3 selective Ride Control. recently the Service Selective Ride Control light came on. I have troubleshot the problem (jumpered the A-C pins) and diagnosed the problem as a Code 33, "left rear out of position." My question is what is the easist way to access the top of the shock and the actuator. Is there a panel that can be removed from above or do I need to jack up the car, remove the wheel and work from below.

Rear?? You have to jack it up, support the knuckle, unbolt the top support plate, unbolt the shock from the knuckle support.

My 92 had FX3. To remove the actuator I think it was a locking clip. I removed one once and I didnt have to remove the panel.

My actuator was not the problem, the problem was the shock's top gear was cracked and the shock was not performing.

IIRC correctly be careful not to let the actuator (top) slip into the frame? Believe that only pertains to the rear shocks...not sure about your, just a heads up.

Thanks for the information. Does anyone know if the front and rear actuators are the same and what the part number(s) are.

IIRC, the actuators are the same. When you take the 2 bolts that hold the shock in, it all comes out. Take the retaining clip out and gently pull the actuator straight up and off.
