When I turned off the lights on my 84 tonight the left (driver side) headlight motor would not stop running even though the bucket appeared to be fully closed. I tried it with the hood up and down. It does not seem to be stuck on anything. I finally had to disconnect the battery to stop the motor. Any thoughts?
Hi,
Both of mine do the same thing on my 92 LT1.
They even cycle when I only have the parking lamps on and turn them off.
Lately they make a lot of racket when turning them on.
Drives my wife crazy and she encourages/threatens me to sell the car...LOL.
Thanks,
92WhiteVetteGuy
The H/L motors changed in 88. The earlier version requires a gear change to fix the problem, the later design just needs 3 little bushings changed. Either one is a cheap and relatively easy fix.
