93 ECM impossible to find
I sent the ECM off to A1 cardone to have it rebuilt and they bench tested the ECM for 1 week and certified it with a 12 month warrantty as problem free and 100% working. My mechanic that diagnosed the problem disagrees with A1 Cardones tests and still believes the ECM to be the problem. I agree that the ECM cannot be bench tested under the conditions that you would find under the hood of a car with heat and other factors.
SO here is the problem: I have had a GM dealer working to get me a reman ECM for a 1993 corvette and every time I call the availability date gets pushed back again and again and again. Right now I am looking at the end of September to get a reman ECM from GM.
There are ECMs EVERYWHERE for every single year except 93 for some reason. On Ebay you can find ECMs for 88,89,90,91,92,94,95, ECT but NO ONE HAS 1993!!
Any idea on why the 93 ECM is on the endangered species list? Anyone know a source where I can get one? I've looked all over the internets with no luck.
My next step is to look at Carlisle, which will be like finding a needle in a hackstack.
Im ready to light my car on fire and post the video on youtube.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Good luck, let us know how you make out.
i had the exact same issue when the ecm failed in my 93. it's my understanding all 93 lt1's use different mapping than any other year, thus they are impossible to find. a word of advice: don't wait for gm to be restocked. they pushed back the restocking date 3 times on me before i found a guy in texas who rebuilds them. i would highly reccomend going that route rather than taking a can of gas and a match to your car just yet. darkghost, if i can find the guy's info who rebuilt mine, i'll PM it to you.

my old ecm didn't have those same symptoms, it was just fried.
