Need some help/advice......I'm getting a code 41 cylinder select error and the car barley runs.
History.....car sat for about 8 months dead battery, changed battery and fuel pump took a crap changed it and a week later the pump took another crap....hummmm. Found fuel pump relay was bad and wires were shorting out. Rewired and changed relay and car seemed to run ok but was getting intermittent service engine soon light. When the light was out car ran great as soon as light came on ran like crap.....as days went by the more I ran the car the crappier it would run, the mechanic around the corner pulled the code (41) and said i prolly had a bad ECM we replaced it and no difference, put the old ECM back in and limped it home......car seems to be running very rich and will hardly go at all.
Any suggestion would be great, I'm at a total loss....mech said it could be a bad PROM ???
Thanks for any comments/suggestion......Case of Cold Beer to the problem solver
Not sure, I have to call.....mech said the one that is in there is not original and the number wont cross over to anything. Was changed out many years before I got the car.
Out of production and numbered/burned according to equipment - tranny and rear-end ratio. Maybe if you post your Year, someone will have the number you need and then you can call the Vette boneyards.
