I'm in the process of gathering the equipment to do the chip burning for my 93 now. I have the AKM Cable adapter to plug into the ALDL port and into my laptop (bought used) and a copy of TTS's Datamaster software so I can see what the car is doing.
I also just ordered an adapter from Craig Moates to make programming easier. A ZIF socket and doing without the memcal. Read up on that to get the idea. I don't need a UV eraser since I will be using the AT29C256 flashable EEPROM chips instead of the normal 27C256 that requires the erasing before using.
My plan is to get the pocket programmer to do the updating with and Tunercat for the editing. Sounds like a lot of stuff, but the only true way of optimizing my car for my needs and mods.
