Default Changing the fuel filter

Finally got around to this job (had filter 6 mo.) and read the info on the forum. Looked like a real squeeze as I have XL meathooks. Used a slightly different approach- bought two combo wrenches, 20 mm and 16mm. Welded an old socket on each to make crowfoot wrenches at a length that lets a socket extension sit alongside the filter. On the 20 mm, the offset on the original wrench gives clearance for the crimped rim on the outlet end of the filter. Then I cut the box ends to make tubing wrenches out of them. The operation was a success. NOTE: Before anyone casts aspersions on my welding technique, I acknowledge it will not win any beauty contests.

Also, I had to remove the x-brace. Since this piece is awkward, and I am a one-man band, I removed only the half that is in the way, about the same work as removing the whole thing, but more manageable.

Nice. My most sincere compliment is to say that these remind me of some of the crap in my tool box that I've made over the years. Some of it is crude, but always effective.

I forgot to add, that as a cheapo type, I took the two remaining wrench stumps and welded them together, resulting in a nifty 20 x 16 mm open end wrench. No pic of that beast.
