Wow 17 and has a vette? Most kids settle for a Corolla.
I had an '84. Forget supercharging it. To much air plumbing to run to each throttle body.
- Change the fuel pump in the gas tank to an '85 fuel pump. The '84 is to weak.

- Take the intake manifold off and open up the runners. They are purposely closed off.

- Leave the fan on all the time. The '84 runs hot. Change to a 180 degree thermostat. Don't go lower because the torque converter doesn't go to closed loop.

- The air to the throttle bodies goes through the hood (whacky). There is an oval opening in the front of the underside of the hood where the air goes. It gets closed off when the hood is closed. Take a moto drill and cut a hole in the air box (just below the hood) the size of the hole in the hood. Take home weather stripping and put around the hole you cut to make a seal. The engine will breath better.

You may get another 50-60 HP and 30-40 lbs of torque. Change the rear end to a 3.54 and the car will come alive. Be careful, the car doesn't have traction control, just posi-traction. You can loose it when accelerating in a tight corner. At 17 you're not very experienced.

Here are pictures of my '84 when I had it. It was show room.

Look at one of the engine shots of my '84 and you can see the hole I cut in the air box. You can also see the oval hole in the hood to get the air. When the hood closes without the mod the air gets cut off.

Good luck!

Lol, I'm 17 too, and I just bought a brilliant 86. You can do a MSD distributor for around $200, and replace the plugs and wires. Switch air filter to K&N, Royal purple synthetic oil. There's tons of small upgrades that you can do to these cars that make a big difference. The very first thing I would do, would be to get some new exhaust. I have magnaflows on mine, and they sound great.
