Default Hydraulic clutch issues

Some updated advice from Bill Boudreau of zfdoc from a phone conversation last week:

He now recommends using Motul RBF600 racing brake fluid and not the GM juice.

He says the hose will not be degraded by the fluid, as he formerly thought, because it is made of nylon inside. Therefore, no need to replace it unless it is damaged/leaking.

The mandrel-drawn cylinders by TRW are no longer made, but there is probably stock in the field. TRW was the only co. to make this style, and they have a high failure rate. He advises cast cyl's and said they should last 100k miles.

Did Bill say why he prefers the Motul fluid over the factory fill?

Live well,

He didn't have specifics, but was just generally dismissive of its performance. I believe this is a change of thinking for him as, IIRC, he recommended it at one time (not sure about that). Also, no discussion of the "squeak" issue that the GM juice is supposed to prevent. I am currently using the GM juice with cast cyl's and, so far, so good. But I bought a bottle of the Motul and I may try it.
