Default Is lowering a 94 a good idea

My car runs great but takes bumps very hard, if I lower it like some i have seen it my look better but the ride would be terrible.

Any thoughts on this?

I agree it might look a little better but the ride if you thinkit is harsh now forget it. It changes everything. I would not do it

My experience with dropping a C4 is different than the previous posters. If you drop it correctly, the ride quality will not get noticibly worse from the drop...

One thing you have to learn about CF is the lack of separate sections for early/late C4s, L98/LT1 etc, which is tragic since the C4 evolved over the years and there are many changes/differences between them. One difference is the base suspension spring rates got softer as the series progressed. So it is possible that a drop that results in a horrible ride quality on an 84 may be fine for a 96.

However, it a fact that I lowered my daily driven 95 it in March 2005 with a kit (wedges and lowering bolts) and a few months later I lowered it a little more...cut the front springs ends ...and moved all the shims from top of the springs to the bottom. Its pretty low but it now has the high speed stability it was lacking when it was at factory ride height. I've driven it in varying road conditions over the years I have not felt the need to return to factory ride height. (I will admit that the drop, hurt the cars ability to drive in unplowed snow... )

Hi,
I love the Colorado winter pics of your 95 LT1.
I drove my 92 LT1 through 5 Peoria, Illinos winters.
People either thought I was nuts or the most skillful driver in the world.
I ran a set of Kumho ESCTA ASX all season radials.
I have a pair of genuine Good Year winter snows that get put on in January.
Driving a vettte in the winter can be a unique challenge.
My car always faithfully got me home!!!
Thanks for sharing,
