Default Best numbers for all wheel alignment?

I've just finished replacing the front and rear bushings with polygraphite and installed new upper and lower balljoints as well as all 4 wheel bearings. Tie rod ends and U-joints also.

Question is, what is the optimum settings for the front and rear caster and camber on a daily driver for best tire wear.

You are saying 'best tirewear'

camber front and rear = 0

toe front and rear = 0

caster = 6.5

just try and find a shop that has calibrated their machine recently
a lot of those $30,000 machines you see sitting there are out of calibration

I hadn't considered that aspect. I just assumed that it was done on a regular basis. I'll ask when the machine was calibrated last. Thanks

For best tire wear, I go with 0.5 degree negative camber for the front. That is for all the other cars I have had. I have not done it for the Vette yet. Going a little negative prevents the outside edge from becoming rounded if you do mostly city driving. If mostly highway then zero camber or stock.

Doing some other reading I have found that going with non-stock specs can make the car a little "darty". That is the car can wonder or dart one way or other going straight with hitting grooves or bumps.

I'd recommend no more than .25degrees negative camber for an on-road car.

Just had a 4wheel alignment yesterday; the shop was good, but the customer service was bad. Waiting to get the tires on the car (from them too) before I rip into them for the other local guys. Anyway...

I got
0 to -.2deg camber, front
-.1 to -.2deg camber, rear
6.3 to 6.6deg caster
.05" toe, front
.05" toe, rear

for $150, this work took the tech. 2 hours to complete. I got a quote from Firestone for $90, but I figured they weren't as used to seeing the fully-adjustable cars coming through. Bottom line - to do it right, it'll take time. And that costs $$.

Good luck!
